new fangled technology
I tried this “electronic mail” new fangled technology today and…
It must be my lucky day!
“Electronic mail” is amazing – I just wish I could shut my computer off at night and still have it come in. I feel bad for whoever has to deliver it all.
Here’s why it’s my lucky day…
I got an email from the advisor to the widow of a late dictator in Nigeria who has $35,000,000 in an account and… get this… he wants ME to accept the money here and he'll give me $5
million as a finders fee! He didn’t have very good spelling but his email is with hotmail so he must be legit. I can’t wait to spend my $5 Mil!
As if that wasn’t enough, I got this email:
“Hi, I’m Amber, I am a local college girl, I saw you in the chat room and I am hot thinking about you, come visit my webcam”
Wow – I must have made quite an impression that she wants ME to visit her webcam, especially since the last chatroom I went in was like 1996 but that’s okay she says she’s HOT.
I also got an email from someone saying that I can get free Vi8gra! I am not sure if its related to Viagra but there is no prescription needed so, why not.- What great news from the information superhighway!
I knew this was my lucky day.
Then I found out the bad news from some really smart computer friends: these “electronic mails” were
random and that the senders send out DOZENS of them. (I don’t know how they type that many addresses.)
Apparently it’s called “SPAM”
I wish someone would email me and say “we can help block spam”
Anyway, I still feel glad about this “electronic mail” thing. Especially since our lazy ass postal workers won’t deliver if we get one inch of snow.
Information superhighway here we come!
